About Me

My name is Sariska, and I have been an international teacher since 2010. I began my career in South Korea as an elementary ESL teacher before moving into teacher training. In 2017, my husband (also a teacher) and I relocated to Saudi Arabia.

Over the years, I’ve worn many hats: essay reviewer for an online writing center, transcriptionist for a marketing company, homeroom teacher for Grade 2, and English Language Arts teacher for Grades 4, 6, and 10, as well as a tutorial group teacher for first-year English students at a university. Today, I serve as an English Language Acquisition teacher for Grades 1–7, where I integrate content teaching with language development for students from all over the world.

This work inspired me to pursue a Master of Education in Teaching English Learners. This blog, part of my capstone project, shares insights, strategies, and reflections on supporting multilingual learners through equitable, engaging, and culturally responsive teaching. As an English Language Learner myself, I’m deeply committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment for every student.

Outside of work and study, I love cooking and baking, spending time with my husband and cats, practicing yoga, listening to music, collecting quirky facts, and travelling.
